Robert V. JonesWaltham Scratching my head??
By the pictures you will say this is a 18s Waltham Keywind and if you look up the serial number it will say it is an 18s. Well in hand it looks much smaller and it only measures 42mm about 14s across the dial when other 18s movements measure 45.5mm.

Bill MandersRob,
If the ser# is 5292963, what you say is what the lookup states, but the number is not really clear.

Dave TurnerI think I've found the answer.

Robert McClellandRobert, The serial number list in Roy Ehrhardt's 1976 ed. of the "Waltham Pocket Watch Identification and Price Guide" lists this watch as 14 size F.P. Home grade KW 7 Jewel Unadjusted. The serial number list in this book is a copy of the list in the Waltham printed serial number book which was used to create the on-line database. Since all the information you listed from the look up appears to be correct except for the model and size, it appears that the 1883 and 18 size are errors that occurred in creating the on-line version from the printed list.

Patrick WallinYou should use a back scratcher or your fingers to scratch your head, NOT a Waltham.
