Lovely watch, Phil, but isn't it a Model 1870?

Ethan, Every lookup that I can find shows that
it is a model 1872. I cannot provide a link.

Phil, because I don't collect 18-size watches, I mis-identified your watch as a Model 1870. It's actually a Model 1883. That's assuming we are talking about the watch in Chris' photographs. That watch definitely isn't a Model 1872, which I do collect.

I looked the serial number of the watch in Chris' photos in the Waltham serial number database that I use. This came up:

Start: 8/1/1887 End: 12/31/1887
First: 3275501 Last: 3276000
Model: 1883 Name: No 35 A T & Co Gr
Material: P Grade: Cres. St., NL
Size: 18 Size: 18
Plate: FP Plate: SW
Jewelling: 4 Pairs Jewels: 15
Balance: Exp. Bal: Pat. Reg. - Breg. HS
Style: HC
Style:

Htg

Comment: SW Htg. LS Church Pat Reg. BH nickel Adj.
Source: AD
Date:

1/3/2003

If this doesn't exactly match your watch, it's at least close. (The Waltham serial number databases have lots of errors.)
