It is a thrill opening these mystery watches. With the info I get from this group that helps me pick the right ones I am usually pleasantly surprised. Anyone have any info on B. Brawnwarth? T. B. ?

Is there a city listed on the watch or just the name? Is the spelling correct? I can not see any detail in the photos to answer the questions. I will see if I can find anything.

So far all I could find is a jeweler named B. Brawnworth in Prentice, Wisconsin. This photo is of him in front of his store, the photo is dated 1899.

Not sure if this is your guy or not, but it looks like it is the jeweler in the photo I posted. His name seems to be spelled several different ways.

You listed it as Brawnwarth, the photo is Brawnworth. The census records list a Bernhard Braunworth as a jeweler owing his own store in Prentice Wisconsin. He was born about 1864 in Germany, he came to the US in 1886.

Tom thanks for checking in here. Watch has Columbus. Wis. under the name. If you click the thumbnail and then the pic it gives a bigger picture. Just took another look under magnification. It is Braunwarth for sure. Misread it a couple of times.

Now that I put in the correct spelling google came up with this.

Rabenowich’s Department Store, which was recently established here, has an up-to-date merchandise line, carrying large stocks of dry goods, clothing, groceries, notions, boots, shoes, fruits, vegetables and meats. B. Braunwarth deals in jewelry, watches, clocks, silverware, etc., and pays special attention to watch repairing. S. T. Nelson, so far as we know, is the oldest continuous settler in Prentice. He came here in 1886 and soon after established a shoe shop, where he made a specialty of making the famous “Klondike” drivers’ and cruisers’ boots, but as factory work has crowded out hand work, he has abandoned this work and established a shoe hospital, with modern repair machinery and is now prepared to perform all kinds of shoe surgery in his little shop just north of the I. O. O. F. hall
