Any Value Here? "Click" to Login or Register

Hi;

I was wondering if anyone here has ever seen one of these before. A lady brought it in to me this morning and asked if I could tell her anything about it and I couldn't.

It's a commemorative watch of the 1939 visit to Canada of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth I.

Is there any value to this piece? Monetary, or historical value?

It's made by Westclox, Canada and is about a size 12 I'd say.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Bud

sorry about the fuzzy movement photo but on the movement is the numbers: 3 30 39

The 1 month visit started on May 17th 1939, three and a half months later WWII started in Europe so it was probably the last royal tour before the turmoil that ensued. I wonder how many were carried to war by Canadian troops.
