Anybody have any earlier ones with this regulator?



Shugart 2007 P 148 top illustration right hand side, "Hurd's Pat. regulator first used in early 1886".

Picture below serial number 47385 year 1884/5 Hurd's patent?

Anybody have any earlier ones with Hurds patent

I have an Aurora 18s watch with a regulator I have never seen before. It is most interesting as I cannot figure out how to adjust it beyond a millimeter or so.

Please comment...

It looks like there is a coarse adjustment which is done by moving the arm into the next grove from the one it is in. Then a fine adjustment which would be by way of the screw which tilts the quadrent itself. Pretty neat.
