A little while ago I bought one of those 992b Hamiltons in the stainless case. I thought it would be a good cary watch being a bit tougher than a gold one. My friend agreed and managed to talk me out of it so I had to get another. The new one came with this dial. I bought it knowing it was not correct but it looks clean and will still keep the trains on time. It is a painted dial on brass so should last for a while. The back is marked W.Spray. P C 473. Can anyone tell me anything about these dials or Mr Spray?

Together again and ready for a few years of service I hope. Lost 30 seconds overnight so still have to time it a bit better. Appears to have all the correct bits inside. Serial no is C474347 in case anyone wants to know. 1961 I think.

A handsome looking dial that should be fine for a carry-watch. When I see how a sad few in this hobby obsess and intensely argue their definitions of "authenticity" I step back from the fray and begin to see a certain charm in a dial like yours. It sure is bright and easy to read. Enjoy your watch!
