Doctor's Watch--Original Price "Click" to Login or Register

A couple of months ago I purchased this Elgin Doctor's Watch. It's a 16s grade 89 made in 1881. It is listed as having 13 jewels and it has a sweep second hand. I am curious as to what this watch might have sold for in 1881. I have never seen an old ad for this watch. If anyone would have a scan of an old ad for this watch I would really enjoy seeing it. It really doesn't have much to do with the current value of the watch, but just wondering what it would have cost in 1881.

Regards,

Bob

Contact Bill Briska at the Elgin Historical society, and also you might enjoy the book Bill co-authored and which is available through the museum there that tells the history of Elgin in a most readable way!
