I have a 16s Waltham RR watch, 17 million S.N.,mine has plain non-gold jewel settings. I seem to remember seeing one years ago that had what looked to be gold settings. Did they make them both ways? I'm pretty sure the one w/ the gold settings was a 19 jewel, mine is 21J...Thanks, Ted Brown.

Theodore, The Waltham 645 (and 18 size 845) was a purpose-built "affordable" cookbook recipe RR grade "P(remium)" grade 21 Jewel watch, and you have a nice one by the sounds of it. Your interest with what 19 jewel movements with Gold Jewel settings, etc., belongs to a different subject of the P" grade Walthams that were even higher levels (Vanguard, Crescent Street, etc) which were at a different strata, with other features such as diamond endstones, wind indicators and the like.
