Back in 1999 while I lived in Michigan I purchased an Elgin grade 342 that was in a Star stainless watch case that was sold by a guy that used to sell on Ebay under the id "Tulsa-Time" (Joe Haber, if my memory is still with me). It was a nice watch, had an unusual Montgomery style dial that I have not seen to many of, a nice 16 size,ls, of, adj to 4 position watch. There were 5 runs of 1000 each so only 5000 of this Elgin grade was made. So I decided to get one from each run and today the last one that I needed (run#4) arrived in the mail. I have one extra (duplicate from one run so I will put it up on ebay but at least I have finished the set. The first run was only marked adjusted and had slightly different DMK effect but runs 2-5 appeared to be very similiar. Not sure where Joe is (no listing for Tulsa-Time for years) but I still have the first 342.

That's a cool way to collect them. There's a few (actually many) instances with South Bend's where you can try and collect all 4, one from each run.

I'm sure I remember Tulsa-Time and used to buy stuff from him fairly regularly. I can't remember when he disappeared. Ebay used to have a lot more character. Now, not so much.
