Today after finally reassembling my W.I. 16s Elgin that has no W.I. "guts", for mental therapy I went on to do a couple more reliably predictable watches, first a very pretty "20th Century" Montgomery Wards Model made by Seth Thomas (whatta watchmaker, if I was to bet on who got the most bang for their buck it haddabe S.T.W.Co.!) and then I dug up this 1911 vintage Montgomery Dialed Waltham . . . the movement started the stars twirling in my head. So much writing all over the movement plates, very unlike a Waltham, BUT Eek . . THIS IS A WWCo.!!!?
The Regulator stuff looks like a Waltham-made E Howard bridge model Gooseneck and Knife Blade! Then everything is gold plated and gold filled. Even shows 4 position adjustments. I wonder how many of these "Grade 636" models ever happened?

Nice job on a nice 636, Dave! They also made an 18s '83 model like it, the "836". They are the only Waltham ever made marked "double roller" I think.I wonder why they didn't go for all 5 positions, instead of 4.
