Roger I'm no expert but it looks correct to me. I am pretty sure that dial was replaced around the time or shortly after your watch was made in 1906. I am pretty sure the 926 used SS dials and the hands look good to me but I don't know much about hands. Maybe someone who knows a lot more about Hamiltons will chime in. Nice looking 926.

I'm no Hamilton expert either, but it looks like a winner. I think the single-sunk dial is correct, too.
The 926 is (I think) the only 18s Hamilton that was offered with a choice as to hardware. I've seen them with the steel hardware as well as the gilt hardware, like mine:

Movement #502021 comes back a 17-jewel Hamilton 926 finished in 1906. The case, hands, script "Hamilton Watch Co." signature on the movement and dial seem consistent with that.
But this was a RRG watch in its day, so as a collector I'd normally expect to see a DS dial, but it could have been ordered that way so I won't call it incorrect.

I'm with Ed on the DS dial. I like the DS dial better but I have 4 926's in both the gold script and the black script and in PL's also and they all have the SS dial. Now that is not saying the dial has not been changed on all of them. Now my Hamilton's in the 930 series ex; 934, 937 etc.. all have DS dials. There again doesn't mean it came with the DS dial but that is what they have now. But the DS dials just look classier to me.

Roger I just found in the Hamilton library that under the 1909 section it states that the 934, 934, 936, and 937 all have DS dials.
The 924, 925, 926, and 927 did not mention anything about the dials.
Under 1919 there is a picture of a 926 and it looks just like yours but with a different case. Again this is under the 1919 which is 13 years after your 926 was built but it states that the 926 came with a SS dial. Here is the link; http://library.ihc185.com/catalogs/ham1919/28.jpg The signature is the only difference and I think your signature is correct for the time period of your watch.

Ed, I wonder if you know when the 18s Hamilton dials went from "Hamilton Watch Co." to "Hamilton" both script? I would think it's around this serial number's time frame 1906.

Last entry before retiring to bed. As noted above in the 1909 Hamilton library http://library.ihc185.com/cata.../1909cat/Image11.jpg the dial was not mentioned so maybe DS or SS dials were alright depending on what the buyer wanted, I don't know. I did a Google search on images for a Hamilton 926 and almost every one pictured that was around the age of your watch was DS. Now all that means is DS dials are on 926's but with no documentation. The 1919 section from above does state that the 926 came with a SS dial. So did this change between 1909 and 1919?
I see no other mounting marks on the back of your watch so I think either your watch is 100% correct or a new case was added sometime late but either way I think the case has never been with another movement.
Good night.
