I agree with HCB and would add that since C is the largest letter, it is probably the surname, so the owner's initials would have been HBC.

May I throw the cat amongst the pigeons?. I worked for 'The Company of Gentlemen Adventures Trading into Hudsons Bay" circa 55 years ago and it was my observation that HBC did mark most everything (point blankets excepted) H with a B enjoined. HBC thought highly them selves but I doubt they would mark the exterior with logos of this complexity. I believe the initials are HCB. The shape of a relatively large logo should symmetrically lend its self to the circular space upon which to engrave.

We may never know who HCB was in 1909.
However in 2015, I will go with hella cold beer. Smile

Now we are talking- so many to choose from... Like watch manufacturers...

There are several nice local IPA's, Google Norfolk breweries.

Tonite it is Americas oldest lager- Yuengling !

Controversy ensues! My better half says Desmond an I are wrong. The C is much larger therefore it is the surname.
