thanks!

the seller was unsure if the size and based upon the movement pics- it looked like an unmarked 23J Sangamo Special.

When it looks too good to be true.....

It should be added though that the Model 3 12s Grade 410 with a Jeweled Motore barrell is at the same level of quality as the 16s Sangamo Special and was in fact sold by Illinois at virtually the same price as the S.S.
I would welcome this "variant" in my collection, as there is even a "Family Resembelance", kind of like a Cheetah to a Tiger.

Thanks for the pics. At this time, my collection is all 16s watches. When I get home, I will post the link for it- if you are intersted. I think the bidding ends tonight at some time.

Thanks again

Nice to see the 410 grade watches, as I had often wondered if the possible few hundred 23 jewelled 6 positions 405 grade in run 3498001-3499000 where mistaken for 410, they have the same chequered pattern although they don’t have the jewelled barrel and motor barrel on the base plate.

Jerry Treiman and I are planning to do a series on 23 jewel stars of Illinois and will include the 410s.I hope to kick it off soon by discussing the Grade 299 23 jewel Hunter of which 110 serial numbers were reserved.

Beautiful watches I wish I had me one. Big Grin
Ethan that model 410 in hunter case is the click spring broken, the click does not look set and it appears to be running.
I like that 410 sadly they are not worth anywhere near what the 16 size watches are worth and they are every bit as gorgeous. I wonder if they will ever be noticed for their beauty and prices start going up to be comparable to the 16 size.

As far as I know, the 410 hunter's click spring is fine. The watch is imprisoned at Citibank. I will check on its click spring next visitor's day.

THe picture just looked strange to me if the mainspring had tension on it to make the watch run then the click would be seated by tension from the winding wheel and in your picture you can see it is not seated like the others. No need in going through any trouble I was just curious. Does anyone else see what I am seeing??
