:dave the no4 howard canadian watch with 24hr dial is a 1909 3/4 plate 5pos 17j ser 982659 made in 1909.Howard made 2 typs one 3pos with a circilar DAMASKEENING,A 17j 5pos good for railroad service with checker DAMASKEENING.Howard didn't make it a series number.Canadian rules states the watch should have a series or number. Most canadian rr watches have a number.this model later on became a HOWARD SERIES 9 later on.the num 4 was only made we beleive 1909-1911.
