Here is one that I have never seen this pattern before on a 1st model 992.

Serial #1062311 which makes this one a 1913, and only the 10th one made in this run.

Larry looks like a 992 Adjusted for Railroad Service movement. This watch is a little later single screw on crown wheel from about 1922

Here is the dial. Larry do you have a picture of the dial on the 992?

Hi Lawrence,

Just a regular Hammy dial. On the ARRS 992's they have a 5 digit number hand scribed right under the movement serial number. So if someone can enlarge or lighten up the photo of your posted 992 it is possible that the hand etched number would show up. It is possible it is just a special finished movement, but it looks like the ARRS movement to my eye.

Now I remenber Rob.

Lindell had spent some time with me on this, but I believe it was on the "special" movement.

I checked, and you are right on the number. This one is only a four digit number though. It is #7955.

Thanks.

Regards,
Larry

Great Larry,

On the later 992's ARRS, the model number is on the movement along with a "special" marking. (992 Special)

So where does this movement fall in Rob?

Is it still considered an ARRS, and is this the wrong dial? I know the case is wrong, but not sure about the dial.

Thanks.

Regards,
Larry

Larry I believe it is. I have seen another ARRS listed with a serial number very close to yours. Yours 1062311 other ex. 1062350) The other example had the ARRS dial. Finding the ARRS dial would be extremely difficult and costly, but never say never. Others may have additional information to add.
