I recently joined IHC185 as a result of a purchase from Phillip Sanchez. This is my first posting and not sure if I am in the correct area. I am looking for a crown, stem and bow for a 16s pocket watch case. I have pictures of exactly what I need and what is not right. I have tried to post a picture but even with a JPEG taken at 2meg it says it's too large. File size is 1600x1200. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Paul

A picture will help. If you dont have software to make it smaller Google Picasa can help.

Welcome Paul.

If you can resize your images to say 800x600 and then save them as jpegs at 60% they will still look very good on this forum at about 140kb.

Any photo editing program will do, even photo commander 8 by Ashampoo, or Picasa.

When I take my pix they are about 10mb, and I then resize just the ones I want to upload to here, the reset I keep for my insurance coverage.

Roland & Jim: Thanks for the repy. I have Adobe Photoshop and never gave it a thought. No idea what happened to the background on one. I'm sure you can see what is needed. Again thanks..Paul

This is the one with the wrong crown and stem. The bow looks to be made of copper wire.

Hi Paul, there ya go.

I use Photoshop also, CS3. Good quality images.

I can see why you need a correct Crown and Bow. It shouldn't be too hard to acquire.
Post your wants on the forum section for Horological parts wanted and you should be able to locate the correct parts.

Hi Paul, Welcome my friend. I have provided a short cut to this thread over in the wanted forum.
I just got in over a hundred pocket watch cases. I will look and see if I can accommodate your request.
In the meantime hopefully one of our great members could have something.

Phil: Thanks a whole lot. I don't want you or anyone else here that I was looking for something for free. Certainly appreciated. If there is anything I can do for you please don't hesitate to ask. I have a pretty good shop setup for either wood or metal. Have a good weekend, whatever is left. Paul

Welcome, Paul. Smile

I don't have any French bows, but if this works better than what Phil is sending then get back to me.

Any friend of Phil's is a friend of mine.
