I reduced the picture size and that cured the problem. Now to work on clarity.

Don,

Your camera is set on infinity and you need to use the macro. Look for instructions or ask your dealer how to use the "macro" setting. Often there is a little yellow flower you click in order to take closeups. Once you have the macro on and working then turn on all the lights or use strong lighting from the window. Avoid reflections and you are better off not using flash. Use a light, non-distracting background.
