What can anyone tell me about a 21j Burlington Watch Co. (swiss) adj to temp & 5 pos.
Is this a swiss fake or is it a legitimate watch?
Thanks,
Bill

Hi bb
Would be happy to, except I have yet to recieve it, will do when I get it. I found one like it elsewhere and it apparently is a Henry Moser Swiss one, being a 21 jewel temp and 5 pos, for Canadian RR. It is in a Burlington case made by Cashier, so now am somewhat more pleased with it. Hopefully it is 16s lever set, as most were apparently.
Will keep you posted.
Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill, if you go to NAW, and search Burlington Watch Co., there's a nice picture of a 21j Swiss Burlington. Those are a true railroad watch. They show it being approved by CP Rail.Nice looking watch, I'd love to get one someday!Regards, Ted.

I have a 12 size Burlington that is Swiss made. It has an ebauche that is very different from any American made watch.

I don't think they are fakes and it seems in 12 size they are scarce

Hi Ted and Bob,
The one I have purchased is the same one shown on the NAW under Swiss Burlingtons, and I think those were made by H. Moser.
Bob,
The one I bought might well be a 12s, I am only hoping that it is a 16 RR grade, but either way it sure looks like a decent watch. When I get it I will post pics.
Thanks for all the info,
Bill

I just received this Burlington Watch Co. watch today and here are some photos of it.
It appears to be a 16s, pendant set/wind. 21J adj. to temp and 5 pos. It is housed in a Burlington Watch Case "Cashier" so Canadian, and someone ? has put some fancy flowered engraving on the inside of the case. The serial number is 1729102 which seems to coincide with any H. Moser watches I have seen. It is missing the whip spring, but likely I can live without that if I can not find one for now, hopefully it can be found somewhere.
Thanks for looking.
Bill

Hello Bill:

Nice Burlington, the floral engraving in the case back quite intricate, I've never seen this done before.

Hi Larry,
Yes, I had never seen anything like that engraving either, it obviously was done after the fact as it covers some of the Burlington engravings, so have no idea what the reason for that was, but seems to have been done quite well.

Did they do the engraving to cover up the dedication or is it part of it, I can't make it out other than what looks like Mother.

Tom,
You amaze me. I had not even noticed what you saw there, and it does appear that it was done to cover something. I attempted to look at it with a 10x loupe and still could not really make it out. It does appear to have something like mother on the right side, but there is also something all the way through in behind the engraving.
I will also add a pic of the outside of the case, as there is quite an intricate design there also.
