1922 Elgin questions

Good afternoon all.
I picked this cute lil guy up this weekend and I was kind of hoping I could pick your collective brains about it. I know it isn't any sort of major find, I'm not that lucky! I believe it was produced in 1922-ish, but beyond that I don't know much else. If I do this right, there should be four different pictures. I'm wondering things like, what should that dial look like? Is the dial salvageable or will it need to be replaced? Is this thing even worth restoring at all? Is it just a Stainless Steel case? Like I said, just general type stuff for now.
Thanks for looking!
Ed

I also have to say that one of the selling points were the initials on the back. EDS; The watch clearly says that it's mine, right? How could I not buy it!! Thanks for any thoughts!

Ed if the movement is not running you can buy size 12 running movement on ebay or keep on checking our mart section as those pop up here and replace it with working movement and better dial if the movement is running it should be not that hard to find size 12 dial in good condition .
nice watch and with your name on it great find.

Ed

You have a nice looking gold-filled 25 yr case.

As Peter said, dials and movements are plentiful.

So, it's a gold filled case? Wow, didn't realize that. That answers one of the questions. It also sounds like it might be a little heroic to have the movement COA. Is it silly of me to think that it would be better to try and keep all the original "stuff" together or is that not such a big deal with the smaller size watches? And was this dial just silver metal? I haven't been able to find any good pictures of one similar to it.
Thanks again guys for the comments!
Ed

Well hot dog!
As a friend of mine used to say, I believe that's close enough for government work! That looks great. I'm certainly up for that deal. I'm sure the lucky individual that I get to COA this thing will appreciate it too! Man, this site has the best people on it!! Thanks Gary, I'll send you a message soon.

Greetings all!
It's always nice to see updates on posts, so I thought I'd share. Thanks to Paul and a wonderful assist from Gary, the Elgin is looking awesome! The dial from Gary looks great with the shiny case and Paul did a bang up job getting it back up and running. This watch is going to be hanging around for a long time to come. Thanks guys!

Thanks all. It turned out great because of the fine folks on this site. Truly the best people out there. I have to laugh. I keep finding myself picking up the watch and staring at the case. I'm amazed at how new it looks. Just shows that even a blind squirrel can find a nut every once in a while!
