Waltham Hillside in 18k gold case "Click" to Login or Register
posted
Hi,

An friend asked me the worth of an pocket watch because he will want to sell and sent me some photos.

Looking the photos I saw that the watch is an Waltham Hillside s/n 2261847 size 14.

The case is 18k solid gold signed AWC, but I never saw before an American pocket watch with pin to set time.

What do you think?

Tks,

Paulo

Paulo, my info database has this watch described as follows:
Model 1874, Grade Hillside NL, 14 size, 7-13 jewel, open face, stem wind....this watch, s/n 2261847 was made in a run which started on 1/1/1884 with s/n 2261801 and ended on 2/2/1884 with s/n 2261900....so this one was the 46th watch made in this run of 100 pieces....

As far as the value goes, that will be determined at the time of sale and will depend mainly on the price of gold which is changing daily, up & down and you will need to know how much the watch weighs minus the movement....also, unless you or your friend can find someone that is looking for that exact watch....Not impossible at this time of year....

It is a nice looking watch and I wish you and your friend good luck with it....

One thing you may want to do is list it here in our Members Only Auction Site and see how it goes there....Nothing lost in trying....

Good Luck, again....

Regards,

Jerry
