Hello - I am looking for a 1940 Hamilton 992B. with a serial number no bigger than c10500. My Great Grandpa and Grandpa worked on the railroad together! Both were presented with their own Hamilton 992B from the railroad. The watches have been lost to time due to their early passing's. We know that my Grandpas 992Bs serial number was c10523. My Great Grandpas 992B had a really small serial number below a 1000. I am looking for serial numbers as close to c10500 and one early 3 digit serial number. I want to get the pocket watches for my Father, Aunt & Uncles to re create the family heirlooms. Any Help of pointing me in the right direction or selling one would help! Thank You for your time, Shawn soverb@hotmial.com

Welcome aboard IHC185 Shawn. I'm always pleased to meet a fellow 992B collector. The 1940 examples you are looking for will be Movement Signature Type 1, with circular damaskeening on the winding wheels and highly polished gold (plated) center wheel (see photo): Movement #C612 from my collection . . . Note small movement number font.
