Well I got my Burlington Special in today. I can not find it in the Price Guide so I hope I did not pay to much. I hope the hands and dial are correct for the movement. The only thing is it is a hunter movement. It is in a triple hinged gold filled case in excellent condition. If it can't be in a hunter case this style would be my second choice. There is a little brassing on the stem bit that is it. It has gold lettering and is 19 jewels and the s/n is 2122940. I figure the case is worth close to what I paid but I really like the dial and that is why I bid on it.

Nice Harry. Is this a "Burlington" case? If so, then it would be all original. Regards, Brad

No Brad it has been re-cased. It is stamped Keystone Watch Case JBOSS 10K Goldfilled 9781030. It is keeping very good time so far.

I've got a 1918 Burlington 21j open-faced. It's not in a "Burlington" case either, but it is one of my favorite carry watches. Sent it down to Chris for a COA after I got it. Runs like gangbusters! And it is just a scosh more accurate than my 992. Mine has moon hands. Love it. Brad

I have a couple of 21j Illinois but nothing special. Like most of my watches I get the movements and start putting them back together. I don't know how people can buy these in bulk and piece them out. I know there is more money in them that way but just look at what you are destroying. I don't have any ill feeling towards them they are great people I'm sure and I know they are just trying to put food on the table and in a way they are a victim of the economic times just as the watches are because of the gold prices. Anyway I don't know how I got off track but I don't carry any of my watches as I don't want to put any more wear on them than is already there.

Can one of you Illinois experts tell me if the dial and hands are correct for the movement?

I really like the dial Harry! Deacon

Harry- Very nice watch. It should be housed in a burlington watch company case to be correct. I have a burlington with fairly close numbers in a display back hunting case. They look absolutely beautiful with a crystal covering up the movement instead of a dust cover. I would then use the case on it on a nice OF illinois movement. Here is a pic of the hour hand you will want to get.

Thank you Deacon. Yes I like the dial also. AND it is perfect from what I can tell. Beautiful watch Jared. I have a 18s gold filled display case like that but it sure would be nice to have a 16s for the watch. T will keep my eye open for a Burlington hunter case but that is why I try to steer away from hunter movements because the good cases are expensive and hard to find.
