Elgin BWR 19j 12s - recent pick up "Click" to Login or Register

I recently picked this BWR 19j 12s movement off ebay and had a nice case to drop it in. The movement runs well but could use a cleaning since the wheels show a little dirt and grime.

It does have the jewel barrel, I have another 17 jewel 12s hunter that is much like this one and has the metal brass type jewels rather than ruby jewels on the barrel. This one is a bit more common (10K made) than the 21j LE version (2K made) but at the time it 1917 catalog was $50 for movement only which put it in the same price as the 21j 16S BWR grade 391, which is a very good grade RR watch. It is also adjusted to 5 positions so it was a good grade 12s in its day.
