Do crowns just fall off? "Click" to Login or Register
posted
It's been a while since I've taken out my Hamilton 930. When I went to wind it the crown came off? The crown and stem are complete with nothing broken. I can see threads to screw it back on but how? The inside "sleeve" rotates while the crown and stem are attached. I've been fooling with it for an hour and can't seem to figure it out?? Does it require a special tool? I've attached a picture of the watch. Thank you in advance for your help.

Carlos,
It's hard to see what you have there by the picture. I would remove the movement from the case and then take a pair of pliers and hold the stem while screwing down the crown tight. Put the movement back, in and try it.

Thank you for the tip. I was able to unscrew the crown from the stem using pliers.
