I have just acquired this Hamilton 975 sn:375715 private label Pocket watch .Marked "Lewis Special" on the movement and L.W Lewis Columbus Ohio on the dial . As far as I can determine it might be from this jewelry store http://digital-collections.col...y&CISOPTR=4568&REC=9 1901-1910 . That is all the information I have . Anyone know any more about this gentleman .

He was Lorenzo W. Lewis. He was born about 1861 in Canada, he immigrated to the US about 1880. He was married to Anna Lewis born about 1870 in Ohio. They had a daughter Lucille born about 1893 in Ohio & a son George born about 1907 in Ohio. This is from the 1910 US census for Columbus Ohio.

I think you got the cart in front of the horse you have them married in 1870 when he is nine years old, and immigrating 10 years later.
