This cleaned up so well that I would say it is as close as you can possibly get to a 104 year old "NOS" Elgin. Whatta nice piece to carry. I did the mainspring and cleaned it up as promised and here it is Jerry. Thank you for your donation to IHC185 for my membership fee and book this year! This could get to be a regular habit!
. . . Isn't that a "J" engraved on the back cover? Cool

Now THAT'S a honey!

Of course, it's also an Elgin, and of course, David cleaned it up.

Really nice!

That's beautiful! You did an outstanding job on this one, Dave. It's always so nice to see them today as they must have originally looked.

Thanks, Dave, Now that is a great looking Elgin....
You have done a great job but of course it is the kind of job we have come to expect from you.... Wink And you've done let the cat out of the bag....you won't have the time to work on your own stuff now.... Big Grin you will be to busy working on the stuff from others.... your loss, our gain though.... Roll Eyes

Now I'm really anxious to see it in person....

Thanks a lot, Bro....

Regards,
Jerry

Jerry in 50 hours running your nifty Elgin refuses to deviate more than about 6 seconds. Even on the timing bench next to the "Godlike" presence of my super 940 (that is about 6 seconds fast a week), it is not humiliated into "missing a beat".

Please understand however, that our deal can only happen once a year as that is how I "earn my due" with IHC 185. The rest of the time, I as well as you should send our problem watches to Chris Abell who "earns a living" Wink doing this.

Great post Dave, I do thank you for the fine job you have done with this Elgin.... Wink

I agree 100% with your thought on sending Chris as much as possible, in fact I have four ready to go to him as soon as I get the time to make them ready for shipment....

Thanks again, and keep up the great work....

Jerry

But you will have to ask him about it if you want to know what it was.
Thanks Jerry!
