I found this Waltham that appears to have an unusual adjustment on the setting lever. Can anyone tell me anything about it. Thanks

Both the question and response are a little confusing. Did the picture get switched? The picture up now shows the back of the movement, not the set lever. Did you mean the regulator? If so, a clearer picture would help. I also do not see what small screw suggests a detent stem in the picture. The 1883 model shown never had a detent stem.

The setting lever for speeding up or slowing down the watch was the part I had in mind. I can not find a similar one and was unsure if it was origional or added later by someone. Picture is best I can do at the moment.

This is a fairly standard later micrometric regulator for the 1883 model.

I must add that you have an excellent example of an early finely finished movement. I suggest that you check and see if the blued Cock screw was incorrectly used "on top" instead of "underneath" the Barrel Plate. You might find the necessary polished screw was incorrectly used as one of the two hidden plate screws under the barrel cover. Otherwise the blued screw should be replaced or polished out so it matches the others.
