Is anyone familiar at all with Arrow Watch Co.? I picked this one up at an antique store and can't find any info on it anywhere. Its interesting in that the train gears are all white. Stainless steel? Movement: 16 size Movement Serial 11017 Arrow Watch Co. Adjusted 3 Positions Safety Pinion The case clearly is not original to movement. But for what its worth its Philadelphia Watch Case Co., serial # 8971574. Any thoughts or info is appreciated. Here's the movement:

Nice looking movement. Some observations; 1. The hole pattern for the three center wheel jewel screws definitely are re-arranged from a "normal" two-screw pattern. U.S. made 16s center wheel jewel mounting screws are symmetrically patterned. 2. The Crown Stem pinion is engaged to the outer Crown wheel teeth. U.S. made 16s crown wheels have axially cut teeth on the bottom face engaging the stem pinion. 3. The wheel train beginning with the center wheel are smaller than US-made 16s movements. These features give evidence of a movement modified by a Swiss Manufacturer to a North American customer appearance request. Maybe Canadian distributed. Nice workmanship, probably mid-grade Swiss watch maker. The "White" finish could well be electro-less Nickel Plate. You can do that on your kitchen stove.

I have seen these "Arrow" watches in a 3 FNB movement also. They have a straight line drawn thru the word "Arrow". I believe David has it nailed. regards, bb

I have a 16s Arrow watch which is a close knock-off of an Illinois bridge model. It indicates 5 position adjustment and 21 jewels. The visible jewels look like glass caps over all the the gear train pivots. The dial has the same logo as yours, though the numbers are in the Illinois old English style. I've always thought it was a Swiss product.

Mike, as this example you have is running, if it keeps decent time, it is a nifty carry watch. The "Arrow" name only relates to the seller's name choice. There might actually be a makers name under the dial, but the workmanship speaks for itself.

David, I'm going to look under the dial and report back on what I find.
