I have wanted to ask about this watch for a while. It is a 16 sz Illinois 17 jewel watch sez The Garland on the movement.serial num is 4717369.It is housed in a nice Ball model case. what throws me is the book states these were Swiss made. It has no Swiss markings anywhere. It has Illinois watch co on the Movement. also the dial is different. Any Comments?

Hi Wayne, that is a standard U.S. made Illinois movement and dial. The Ball "Garland" models were the Swiss-made ones, somewhere along the line, your Illinois was recased into the Ball-marked case.Nice watch! Take care, Ted.
