I can't find any information whatsoever online about this watch. It's an 18 size, 21 jewel, 3 adjustment, lever set sidewinder. The serial number is 163742.

Can anyone give me some history on it? Is it a "private label", and if so, what make of watch is it? Thanks!

Matt,

Looks like you have a "swiss" watch there.

Your watch is what has become known as a "Swiss fake". Some were a bit better quality than others. Many were just a cheaper watch and not created to fake or fool, but they were made to resemble somewhat better known & higher quality American pocket watches.

Most of the balances were made to look like a compensated balance, but not many had the cut in the balance wheel.

Also most used oversized jewels made of blue or red colored glass.

Many used the same serial numbers over & over again even in different watch companies.

Your watch at one time had a micro adjustable regulator spring on the balance cock, but it is now missing.

regards,
bb
