Ummmm - currently perplexed...

What is this part? And what does it do (function)?

Is it the "slide bar" - part #1598?

The mainspring was covered in "packaging grease" of some sort and broke in a few sections... So, far only part replaced

However, the movement is not still not winding properly, any thoughts - IL 16s Model 6 Season Veterans???

It needs a major bath...

its to lock the movement into the "wind position" while out of the case on pendant set watches if I'm correct...
