I have come across a pocket watch I can not identify. I can see Maiden Lane in gold script, but I can not tell if the other lettering is Hamilton or Illinois. Cased in a 14kt gold hunter. Here are some scans for comments.

This is a 16 size Hamilton... It was specificaly made for Hayden W. Wheeler. His company had a sales office on Maiden Lane in New York city.. Very desirable watch.. Very good article on these watches in an older NAWCC Bulletin Oct or Nov 2003..Can we see the case marks and the dial??

As John says this is a very desirable watch. I was able to acquire one about a year ago and it is one of my favorite watches in my collection. My Hayden Wheeler is serial number 175,038.

Many of these had double sunk non signed dials...I would say a very correct dial.. If you look closly it should also have a gold center wheel..
