I should qualify the statement a bit, I did already have the case. The movement in good condition just some minor corrosion on the goose-neck spring and currently is keeping RR time. I had picked up the case some time back for about $35 or so with shipping so I might have $100 into the watch but it was one that I was missing from my collection so it was nice to pick up a movement with nice dial and hands and not all crapped out from abuse to fill an empty case.

Nice Claude! Is that a lever-set?You must be about filling your Elgin hit list by now...if this was an older movement it would have been street railway grade if L.S.You did good!Happy New Year, Ted.

It is a lever set adj 3p watch and I think Elgin made it to replace the grade 527. I would think by the time the 572 came out trolleys were a thing of history but there may have been areas where good accuracy was needed but not quite railroad accuracy. I have the 571, 572, 575 (ps) and missing the lever set 573 and pendant set 574.

The camera makes the goose neck look worst than it really is and I see I had a smug on the plastic crystal. It was well worth the $50, I now need to find a good version of the 573 and 574 sometime in the future.
