A recent purchase on this site had me looking through my Illinois Getty movements. They are probably my favorite movements to collect due to the many differences in markings as well as the many private labels found in small production runs. I've found the damaskeening on these to be quite exquisite on some and very plain to downright boring on others. So, show off your Getty's here.

Here is a 15 jewel grade 183 Hunter. Many of the Getty movements are unmarked. Could it be that the unmarked movements were anticipated Private Label sales that were unfulfilled, so just released as is into the marketplace?

If you like collecting Private Labeled watches there are many to be had with the Getty models.
This is a 17 Jewel Grade 174. The "Blue Book" shows the higher jeweled (19-23) watches in this grade to be private labeled. Wonder how many of the 17 jeweled ones were? I've seen many with the B.J. Feldman and BJ Feldman & Sons markings.

Last but never least, a 23 Jewel Sangamo. Considered highly collectible, but it is a little sad that the "extra" 2 Jewels are Just 3rd wheel caps . . .

This quite possibly could turn into the longest post. As Others like my self love these Gettys. I hope some one post some 26 or 25 jewel Gettys as I have never seen any. Lindel do you have any???

Wow, great looking watches guy's. I too would like to see some higher jeweled versions. I sold a 23j sangamo at the beginning of my collecting and have regretted it ever since

I know how you feel. I sold a 21j sangamo a couple years ago and reqretted it. I ended up picking up a nicer one though about 2 months later, so the regret is gone.

Thanks Jerry. That is a beauty. I have a bold, gothic dial that would look great on it. Gonna close for more than I have for watches at the moment . I will however be bidding on that TAG wrist watch he has listed.
