I have an 18S Illinois serial number 1389115 that needs a new balance staff. It is an open face watch with a single roller. I would like to know the original factory part number for the staff for this movement. Thanks!

Well Roger your serial number shows it to be a model 6 Lever set open face grade 99 or 99S 11 jewel the parts book I have lists the balance staff as 47605 single roller.

Your watch is an 18 size 11 Jewel open face 6th model full plate movement. That being correct, the part number for the balance staff is 1281 and it should loook something like this one . . . (I am not too good at parts lists protocols, but this is what I see)

Not a clue, I used a 1925 Ilinois Matewrials catalog (reprint). In either case you should contact Brian Cavenaugh for the part, or Jim Liang "Old Larose parts". They are both listed in our services and busines section.

I don't know either, David's might be Illinois' actual number, I used the Illustrated Manual of American Watch Movements. As David said I am sure Brian can tell you exactly which on it is. Now that I look more, I think my number is the ENJASCO number. So I would bet David's it it.

If you put the number I gave at Jim's web site it brings up a Illinois staff;

My Illinois parts catalog lists Order # 6890, Part #1281. My Bestfit assortment lists Part #1281 & #47605.
