Buster BeckI was fortunate enough to run across two Dudley Model 2's last month at an auction. Thinking I may get a good deal on them I awaited......
First one was in a display case #3646 and went for $3550. Second one was in a GF case #2322 and went for $3750.
Neither were minty and at best would have been excellent and neither had undergone a COA in decades. As an interesting point, both watches were bought by the gentleman in front of me who I noticed was wearing a 32nd ring. So I feel they went to a good home but way too rich for me
I believe 5900 were made total out of the 3 different models so they are quite the item and not enough to go around for the masonic organization let alone the watch collector crowd. Probably a very good watch for investment purposes.
regards,
bb

Claude GriffithWhen I lived in Michigan my neighbor was a big watch collector and had 2 Dudleys and two Gruen 50th version along with many more that were too rich for my blood. They are beautiful watches to see in person, I wish I had kept in contact with him but I moved from Michigan in 1999, the guy did have a kick butt collection of pocket watches of all types, Swiss or American.

James ShuttsThanks guys! It was a fun auction & lots of action, 39 bids; 700 page views & 111 watchers! I was wondering myself if it was a record price for a Dudley. Since that auction, I have been contacted by a gentleman from Illinois that wants to sell his Model #1, Model #2 & Model #3. We are working out the details. I'll let you all know how I make out. Best, Jim
