I just purchased a 15 jewel Elgin,18s,in a case that is signed Tornado. It looks original to the case.No other case screw marks anyway.I have found reference to Tornado watches but not Tornado cases.Just wondering if anyone has an idea about who made it.I'll add pictures tomorrow. Thanks in advance for your help.Regards,Norm

The Illinois Watch Case Co., Elgin Il. filed a trademark for the name Tornado for watch cases & movements, the trademark was issued Aug 1, 1911 according to "US Horological Trademark Index".

This was after cleaning. It's rreally hard to get a good picture it's so shiny.haven't figured my light box quite yet.It looks like it's probably gold plated. This is another of my "pigs in a poke".I paid $51.00 for it.
