I just finished up a COA on this movement. There isn't anything special about this watch movement, but I don't have a case for it. Not being all that familiar with the characteristics of the Howards, I don't know for sure what Case I need to look for to house this movement. Watch is ca. 1930. Did Howards have Howard cases in 1930 or was any of the regular cases used? What should I look for to house this one?

Keystone Watch Case Co. who re-started the E. Howard product line produced special cases for ALL E. Howard RR movements manufactured.

Pictured below is an example of a plain Howard cased Model 10 that passed through my collection. (Note, the pictured case has a replacement bow)

You have two options, I have seen a few Keystone Howard cases show up on eBay, not often, but worth looking for. Otherwise, it is likely that some worn out Howard cases were replaced with other cases. That said, I suppose that you could use any RR type 30's Vintage case.

Paul, if no one in the club has one, there is one currently listed on Ebay. The seller says the case has some wear-through but is otherwise in good shape.

Thanks Guys! Too Bad that one on ebay isn't in better condition. The picture of the back shows a big circle of brass all around the edge. Will place me a "Wanted" ad in IHC 185.

Yeah, the one on Ebay wasn't the best. But I watch Ebay pretty close and I agree with David that they don't pop up very often! I got a really nice one a couple months ago for about $200 to replace the really brassed one that came on my watch (I then gave the original case to another club member).

Paul, if I see one in decent condition I'll let you know.
