Sangamo model 13 questions "Click" to Login or Register

I recently acquired a model 13 17s Sangamo Special movement. (unmarked 60hr)
the dial and hands do not appear correct. the dial looks too small,it appears to be off of a 16s bunn special and the hands are plum kite hands??? so I have a few questions (as usual)
1. What did these hands come off of?
2. I only have three case options for this watch Ridged, stiff or 193 what are the chances I will be able to find one of the three.

Thank you for your time,
Gary Elmore

Dial is off a 16s for sure Gary, something about the hands do not appear right, maybe the colour is putting me off. I think the pyramid bow case was also available for these, the case and correct dial will be very hard to find and if you do I think you will find that it will be a costly experience.

Watches of this ilk are always better being purchased complete and correct as the refurbishment costs to get them that way far outweighs the cost of buying an all correct one.

All the Best with your hunt.

Cheers,
Bila

Thanks Bila,
The pyramid case was only for model 10, but did come in 17s so that might be an option down the road. But I'm ok with the thrill of the hunt. I don't sell any watches so I don't worry about price as much. If you restore a car correctly you will never get your money back out of it but it is still a joy. I thought the same thing about the hands. Too bright

Regards
Gary
