Can anyone tell me anything about Puritan watch cases? I have a very pretty hunter style case marked Puritan inside with a serial number and logo that looks like a steam boat. No metal content or Gold Filled marks. Pretty little (size 6) pie crust case . Engraved on the cuvett to Frances Wasserfurth 1895.

A watch case company known as Bates & Bacon of Attleboro Ma. made a case known as the Puritan, it was a gold filled case guaranteed for 5 years. In 1901 they were bought out by the Philadelphia Watch Case Co. which also became part of the Keystone Watch Case Co. The name Puritan continued to be used by Keystone & shows that it was a rolled gold plate. Hope this helps. Tom
