John, I don't know when they stop using the pocket watches. The first railroad wrist watch as the 214 Bulova Accutron. [In 1962]

In the late 50's and working for a small railroad, Pocket Watches outnumbered wristwatches 20-30:1. The only wristwatches I ever saw were the Accutrons. At that time we still had commuter trains and passenger trains so we had to be aware of their presence on the main lines.
