I have already asked to have it added to the Seven Stars Database

(https://ihc185.infopop.cc/eve/f...1029912/m/6961075071 ), which Ed was quick to do. Thanks, Ed. Smile

Anyway, there is a better than average chance that I am going to sell it once I get it tidied up. I will post pictures soon. The case that it currently resides in is a Star case with a pyramid bow and is in somewhat rough shape with "brassing." Ideally, I would like to case it in a BS Model 173, a BS Model 108 or a BS Model 206. The problem is, I don't have any of those cases. However, I do have a couple of really nice BS Model 29 cases I could use, but am not sure if these were correct for this movement. The arrows-out dial is pretty much perfect and has the 23 Jewels - 60 Hour notation above the seconds bit. My next question is whether or not this watch still has the ability to pull the kind of prices discussed in this thread?: https://ihc185.infopop.cc/eve/f...301000342#3301000342

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Tom

Here are the pics...by the way, I did put on this dial. The one that came with it was not very pleasing to the eye.

Tom,

The II-E is one that I need. As for prices, the Seven Stars in general have fallen off a bit in price since that thread was posted. I just recently bought a I-R with a Montgomery "23J" dial and very nice 108 case for $3200 that would have been $4500 back then.

You also have to take a hit for the case. The Model 29 case really won't help you there. Cutting to the chase, I'd like to buy your watch as is. If you're willing to deal on it, send me an email, eparso@hughes.net.

Best Regards,

Ed

Ed, thanks for the input! I had already begun the search for a proper case. Smile

Like I said in my email, I realize the recession had an impact on the hobby, I just didn't know that it was about a 30% drop. Yikes. Does it seem like things are on the uptick again?

What are the appropriate cases for this movement?

Are these the only ones?

Tom,

I also have a 163 Type IIE. It is in it's original box serialized to the watch. It identifies the "Star 118" case as the original case. I have picutres if you would like to see them.

Also,I believe that the 28, 206, 108, 173 were also available. I have filled my "7 stars" chart and have samples of all of them.

Might be interested in your recent acquisition. Feel free to contact me.

Very nice Don! I saw your movement #5421808 was already in the II-E table of the Seven Stars Database, but I added the notation that it's part of a boxed set with Case 118.

Best Regards,

Ed
