I bought this watch back in April & it hasn't been cleaned or serviced yet. It is marked on the dial Potter & Gray Special For Railway Service & on the movement same information but also Providence RI. I had located that the jewelers were George W. Potter & Bernice B. Gray ![]()

I located the watch listed in the 1987 edition of American Pocket Watches Beginning to End by Meggers & Ehrhardt. In that issue the price listed for the 17 jewel was $350 - $400. One thing I did do was replace the balance cock screw with a correct one. ![]()

Ted I haven't been able to find anything that mentions them being inspectors but I also have to say that in my research of railroad watch inspectors most of them are found listed in advertising for the business. Some I have found I haven't found them listed on the web any place but only on their business cards they handed out in the store. I am sure there are 1000's & 1000's more that were inspectors that I can not locate on the web. I wish I could find them all! Tom
