Less than 5000 of the 16 size-16 jewel Hamilton's were produced. Comments welcome.

Nice, Tony. Smile

I've never seen a 976 or that dial, and both look to be in exceptional shape.

Tony, did Lin let you use his time machine? That has to be "factory fresh". I wonder who calculated the cams to generate that slick diamond damaskeening pattern in the center. Cool

Last week I won a Hamilton 976 watch on eb. The dial and movement look exactly like the one I posted pics of at the beginning of this thread. The serial number for my latest 976 is 54952. Comments are always welcome.

Nice Tony. I have 4 of these. I have 3 complete running watches and one parts watch. The pictures above have the correct dial or at least the same dial as my running watches have and two of the three are in the triple hinged case like the one above. The one above and your 54952 are large plate models. I have #52902, 60996 which are large plate models and I have 66173 and 66557 which are the conventional Hamilton 16s plate design. These do not pop up very often. Not RR grade but who cares. They are a nice piece of Hamilton history. The 976 and 977 (of which I have 2) are the only 16s Hamilton's that I am aware of with 16 jewels.

Nice catch Tony.

Harrry and Tony,
Just checked mine but mine are just movements in need of a few parts..Just haven't got around to trying to get them running yet..Anyway the serial numbers are:

976 -54033 -LP
976 -54962 -Reg. Plate (Private label-L.D. Lyons, Morristown NJ)
977 55553 LP

Harry-The 977 needs a center wheel does your parts movement have a good center wheel..Just thought I would ask while we are talking about thes watches..

Were ANY of the 976 or 977 ever MARKED? I've had a few, but never had one marked 976 or 977.

Robert I have never seen one marked.

Gary actually my two parts movements are actually complete movements. The 976 needs a balance staff replaced and the 977 is all gummed up. I don't have a Hamilton parts book so I don't know if the 974 , 975, etc. center wheel is the same but if they are then I can send you one of those center wheels.
