We’ve been watching[no pun]the Michael Gambon portrayal of Inspector Maigret mysteries. A 1950s era French detective, he sometimes wears his watch tucked in his suit jacket pocket instead of a handkerchief. The chain on his watch has a T bar he puts through the buttonhole on his jacket lapel...clever!

I’d never seen that way to wear a pocket watch, and in fall and winter I often wear a heavy sportcoat so I’ll be using that practice from now on!
