I wanted to start a thread about low-production, "High-Grade"and Finely finished Elgin 16 size Movements. I really enjoy this Particular grouping because they are available at relatively affordable prices and were not made in huge production runs like the later models (16S-14th to 19th models).
I Loosly define "Low" production as less 5000 units listed production. "High-Grade" should be fully jeweled, adjusted, Gold settings, Beveled head screws, Fine damasceening, Etc.
I hope to see some 21j 3F Veritas, or ?????
Let's see what you got!!

I will begin with a 17J Grade 243 "Lace Doiley" about 4000 production Hunting case sold for about $44.00 1904 probably the third Highest-Quality "Advertised" grade at the time.

I listed this 1902 vintage s/n 9901152 on eBay to open tomorrow AM. It is an early model and all numbers match, but the only doily seems to be in the platework. It is spectacular in its presentation, though.

The price guide shows a 16s 17j 3 finger adjusted as 2 star watch, and Erhardt specilates it is RR Grade. In any event, it is in near mint condition, and anybody who gets it has a winner. I will see if I can revise the "Rarity" in the listing. Thanks

Following Sean's reaction about it not haveing the Rare snowflakes, I have reduced some of the fanfare in my listing. I honestly consider this very valuable due to its condition.
