Hi Folks I have a Waltham 16s, s/n:19753302, model 1908, grade - Traveler with gold kite hour and minute hands. The second hand is blue steel. Are these original hands, or would the hands have been all blue steel. I have attached a pic Gordon ![]()

I have not seen these hands on export models before. Most English-style Walthams that I have seen used simpler spade hands. I am not saying, though, that they might not be original. How about hearing from some of our British members? What hands do you usually see on the export models?

Those hands work well with the block printed Roman Numerals. Nice Watch! My guess is a Jeweler added them, as my Waltham parts catalogs only show those available for 12 size PW's.

Hi Jerry and David Thanks for your replies. It seemed to me that these hands would be more likely to be on a fancy watch. I have a similar Elgin of the same period which has all blue steel spade hands. David I would have to agree with you that these kite/diamond hands are common to 12s, especially Illinois pws. As I was rummaging today, I bumped into a couple travelers, both Dennison-Cased. The more interesting one is the Demi-cased watch . . . ![]()

Because this has to have the Double-Spade Demi Hour Hand. Waltham expertts, did Waltham provide these Hour Hands in 1902? ![]()
