What is your favorite way to wear your pocket watches?
A nice chain and a vest.
With a fob in your jean watch pocket.
In a leather pouch on your belt.
In the winter I usually wear mine with an old Filson wool vest. The pockets are a little to high on the vest , but it is all I have at this point. In the warmer weather I usually wear it on a short chain and in my jean watchpocket.
I don't own a fob, but would like to get a nice one.

I really only carry one when I dress up. I try to wear a nice vest with suit, or tux, and a nice chain with a fob/charm. I had a lot of questions about my watches on my tranatlantic cruise in Oct/Nov 08.

I hate to admit this, but I don't know how to wear a fob, even though I have several. I just put my watch in my pocket and secure it with my kangaroo leather lanyard which has a belt loop on one end.

John, I don't know that there is a correct way to wear one because there are so many different types....
If it is an 'Albert' then you wear it with a vest or I have seen guys wear a very large 'Albert' in their jeans, the watch in one pocket and the fob in the other....
If you wear one like the one you described, you simply leave the fob to dangle at the top of your pants pocket while the watch is tucked inside your pocket....
I like to wear vests and there are many different types, styles and colors....one does not have to wear a suit to wear a vest and the vest pockets make it easier to wear the pocket watch with chain and fob....

Hope the dosen't add to your confusion....

Regards,
Jerry

I think wearing a vest to display your love of watches is the ultimate. Everyone has seen pictures of the quintessential train conductor looking at his time piece and placing it back into his vest pocket.
I just picked up another chain today at an antique show. I plan on replacing the photos of the two victorian ladies with photos of my two grandaughters.
Excuse the shaky shot!

Nice 'Manly' looking chain,Ed....

My suggestion would be to leave the two photos as they are and put your two grand daughters photo over them, especially if there is a retainer frame that can be removed with the photos underneath....

By doing this you will not disrupt the originality of the chain and locket set. It may be interesting finding out who the two ladies are....

Just a suggestion....

Regards,
Jerry

This is the way that I attach mine to my levis which have a watch pocket. Its tanned deer skin. Really soft and easy to make.

I never buy a new pair of blue jeans unless the watch pocket is big enough to house a proper 16s RR watch. Now an 18s silveroid whopper, that might be asking a little too much! But I never go out without a pocket watch in my watch pocket....usually my 23 jewel Bunn Special or sometimes my Hamilton model 23 chronograph. These great watches provide the time that I keep every day....and always in my pants!

I am sorry to say that I don't usually carry a pocket watch. When my mother was alive she would sew a watch pocket into my pants so I could carry my grandfathers elgin.

Today, it is real hard to find pants or jeans that have watch pockets and Mom isn't around to sew in a watch pocket for me. So, my watches unfortunely stay home.

I have been looking at the belt pockets with interest and may have to either make one or purchase one so I can start carrying a pocket watch.

I've carried watches in vest pockets, and every time I bent over to tie my shoe or some such thing it fell right out. I always thought that it was easier for pick pockets to just pull the watch out if I wear a fob, so if I wear one I usually use a chain with it. That makes for a lot of hardware hanging out of my pants pocket, but that's the price you pay for luxury and fashion.

Both, but on a chain when in my trouser pocket.

Ernie, check trousers by 'Dockers'. Many of their plain front khaki's have watch pockets. I'm wearing a pair now, and the pocket is big enough to hold a 16s watch. They sell them at Penney's or like stores.
