Hi there. I usually post in the wristwatch forum, and am a pocket watch extreme newbie. For the longest time, the only pw I've owned has been a 1923 Elgin which was my great-grandfather's (with workhorse 7 jewel movement). This I've had for over 25 years, but just started wearing occasionally after I had it overhauled. Anyway, I probably haven't really gotten the bug, but I just bought an Illinois Time King (12S, wgf, ca. 1926 from the movement serial number, per Shugart) from a local collector. I was hoping some folks might tell me a bit more about this model. Here are some photos. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Adam according to the serial number your watch is a 12 size grade 405 manufactured in 1926. Approximately 390K serial numbers were reserved for this grade. The 405 is considered to be of medium quality and was the 12 size grade with the largest production. The dial and hands seem correct for your watch and I like the gold filled case. Bob

I think that watch will be the one that bit you, and bring you over to us! Really though, that is one nice looking PW. I hope you enjoy! Regards, Glenn Howell

Adam, Wow! I like this one! The movement looks nice and clean too! I always like those hands and the case is really beautiful. (Who made the case?) I don't know Illinois that much, but it is a Beauty for sure. Congratulations. ![]() Sheila
