Below are accessories a well appointed gentleman would not be caught dead without when wearing a nice dress watch. Please note I left out pen knives--will post some at a later date.

Each was made in 14kt gold--don't want to be like the riff raff using that gold filled stuff.

Bob

What is the use of each one

Would the one on the right be a seal for sealing wax?

far right, cigar cutter. toothpick may be two in the center right. Odd chance that the other two are for "ear cleaning" utencils (very small spoon)?

They were just like "weights" or a fob to balance the spring ring end of the chain. A very few also had the square on the bottom for key-wind watches.

David ,it might be seen as flaunting it but these tools were much more than weights--they were meant to be used.

To end the misery I thought I would post a picture showing the tools inside the case.

The first two are clearly fancy pencils.I might add that the one of the left weighs 3/4 of an ounce and is a work of art.

The middle tool is a toothpick.

The tool second from the right is a mechanical pencil and the one on the far right is a cigar cutter.

I wanted to show in more detail the first pencil as not only is it heavy and tu tone it has two hallmarks.

This was a rich mans toy.
